Tales Back for New Season on BET

Season Two of BET Tales aired last night at 9:00 PM.  It was a two-hour premiere that focused on the theme song from Kanye West’s new single “Brothers” Director and Creator Irv Gotti spend some quality time with West to get a record for Episode One opening.  I remembered watching Season One of Tales and thought to myself “This seems like a pretty interesting show” At first I didn’t get right into it trying to try my hand and forcing myself to watch it.  There was one particularly episode from Season One that caught my attention and that was the very last episode.  It was like true love and a fairy tale mixed with trouble.

Starring in the first episode of the new season is actor and singer from “The New Edition” Story and FOX “Star” Elijah Kelley, Reality TV Star Draya Michele (Real Husbands of Hollywood) Isaiah Washington (Grey’s Anatomy) and Cynthia Bailey (Real Housewives of Atlanta) and also Lisaraye Mccoy (All of Us and Single Ladies).  This episode brings the heat and fire between these talented actors and singers.  On this episode it told a story of how Viveca played by Draya Michele has a love for the streets and a bad boy named Jimmy played by Thomas Q. Jones  who saves her life when he instantly told her to drive off after he starts beating up two men. He then gets sentenced to ten years in federal prison where life between Jimmy and Viveca changes.  Ten years later, Viveca is now dating Paulie (Elijah Kelley) and he joins the police enforcement following the footsteps of his dad.  After Jimmy gets out of prison, he tries to rekindle the love for his once girlfriend Viveca, but the rumors are confirmed true that his baby brother and her are now an item.

The feud and issues has always been between the two brothers in which Thomas Q Jones  (Straight Outta Compton and Being Mary Jane) plays the role of Jimmy.  After their father dies, Jimmy and Paul comes together to take down the person who is responsible for the death of their father.  They put their differences to the side and work as a team as “Brothers”

This was a great and touching episode of the new season and I am definitely excited to watch the remainder of the season.
