(Arlington, VA)– The founder of the Purple Runway, Gigi McMillan hosts it’s 5th Annual Purple Runway on October 20th in Arlington, VA at the Arlington VA-Mercedes Benz of Arlington. McMillan is a survivor of childhood sexual assault and domestic violence and the event will bring advocacy together and raise support for survivors.
The Purple Runway is an annual fashion extravaganza that has served over 200 children and 100 women and men all over. In 2018 the organization was endorsed by Senator Kaine of Virginia. McMillian launched the platform to create a safe environment for survivors to share stories and to recognize community champions and organizations. Being an advocate herself and raising awareness in her community, McMillan is also the founding member of a new project called “iTHRIVE Sisterhood”. This year the Purple Runway will host it’s first Break Through Summit by iTHRIVE Sisterhood which expands the philanthropic event. The summit will provide resources for those attending to build self-worth and reconnect with themselves emotionally, mentally and physically.
This is an event that you don’t want to miss! It’s not just a fashion show, but an event to continue the advocacy and support among men and women who is a domestic violence survivor.
