Author Feature with Olivia Hall, Christian Author

Olivia Hall
has been an ordained Pastor of the Gospel since 1999. She was ordained an Evangelist in 2016. Evangelist Hall served as Youth Pastor Associate and Assistant co-Pastor to Bethel Temple of Faith, Deliverance and Healing under the leadership of Pastor Yvonnda Gardner who is also her youngest sister. Evangelist Hall answered God’s call to serve and minister to her neighbors. She started a neighborhood ministry called Faith, Hope and Love. Many young people accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Evangelist Olivia serves in God’s Love throughout the world. She enjoys working with the youth, media, arts and various outreaches. The Lord placed Olivia in the market place as a TA (Teachers Assistant) and also in Day Care working with babies. It has been a privilege and an honor to work side by side with an awesome staff and bright high school students at Wheaton North High School. Evangelist Hall is married to Mitchell Hall now for over 30 years and counting. She has a blended family of sons, daughters and grandchildren. She is the author of “When all Hell Breaks Loose” and is also working on other inspirational books.

BLAQVERSITY MAGAZINE: How did your journey as an author began?

OLIVIA HALL: I began  in writing 2002. My first book was published in 2004; in 2019 my younger sister Yvonnda Gardner and I collaborated on a book called Jblock Prayer Manual and was published in 2020.

BLAQVERSITY: Was becoming a writer something you always wanted to pursue? Who motivated you?

OLIVIA: I never thought about writing, until I surrendered my life to the Lord. God prompted me to write. 

BLAQVERSITY: What are some of your favorite authors out right now?

OLIVIA: Joel Osteen, T.D Jakes, and Joyce Meyer are just a few.

BLAQVERSITY: Since becoming a published author, what challenges have you faced if any?

OLIVIA: One of my challenges I think about is if my writing is making a difference in others lives.

BLAQVERSITY: How many books have you written? What is your genre?

OLIVIA: I’ve written two books and my genre is Christian.

BLAQVERSITY: What message do you want your readers to take away when reading your books?

OLIVIA: Love, Hope and Peace.

BLAQVERSITY: Do you have any writing tips/suggestions for any new author who wants to write their book but doesn’t know where to start?

OLIVIA: Relax, think, pick up your pen and paper and let the ink flow.

BLAQVERSITY: Are you currently working on any new book projects? If so, when can we expect them to be released?

OLIVIA: No, not this moment however there will be a children action series coming soon.

BLAQVERSITY: What does being an author mean to you?

OLIVIA: It means being able to encourage others during their journey in life.

BLAQVERSITY: Where do you see yourself five years from now?

OLIVIA: I see myself declaring Gods Word and building as an entrepreneur.

BLAQVERSITY: Have you ever thought about being an author full-time?

OLIVIA: Only if God permits.

BLAQVERSITY: If you could co-author with any author in the world, who would it be and why?

OLIVIA: Tyler Perry because he always has a story to tell.

BLAQVERSITY: Tell us about your marketing strategies as an author? Do you find it to be challenging at times when promoting your books?

OLIVIA: I’ve found it to be difficult. I’m now tapping into the different social media outlets and that helps. Also by connecting with other organizations that share the need for book topics.
