First Time Author Writes First Book called ‘Bitch Hunt ‘After Going Through Life Events

VERSAFI MAGAZINE: How did your journey as an author began?

TAETRECE HARRISON: My journey began 2 years ago when I decided to write about an incident that I endured. I wanted to expose my story along with others who had similar situations.

VERSAFI: Was becoming a writer something you always wanted to pursue?

TAETRECE: The younger Taetrece could not have imagined that she would be an author. As a child my dream was always to be an attorney.

VERSAFI: That’s interesting! Who or what motivated you?

TAETRECE: I have perseverance to finish what I started, by fulfilling my vision to become a successful published author.

VERSAFI: What inspired you to write your first book?

TAETRECE: I was falsely arrested and I take my readers through the events of what happened. The incident lead me to write my first book.

VERSAFI: Oh wow! That’s crazy! Now that you have birthed your first book, how does it feel to be a published author?

TAETRECE: It is an amazing feeling to accomplish writing a book. To see your name on book and know that you are responsible is exciting but a humbling feeling.

VERSAFI: Since becoming a published author, what challenges have you faced if any?

TAETRECE: The number one challenge as a first-time author has been getting in front of my target audience and promoting myself.

VERSAFI: I think as first time authors, it can be challenging to promote your book to people. What genre do you write on?

TAETRECE: Narrative Non-Fiction

VERSAFI: The title Bitch Hunt is very catchy I may say! How did you come to the final conclusion about the title and what does it mean?

TAETRECE: Although the Salem Witch Hunt involved only white women, it is comparable the persecutions currently bestowed upon black women today. The atrocities that professional black women face are the same except it is called “Bitch Hunt”.

VERSAFI: Very powerful and interesting! What message do you want your readers to take away when reading your books?

TAETRECE: Stand in Your Truth against those who want to attack you for being yourself.

VERSAFI: Now that right there speaks volume! So, what does being an author mean to you?

TAETRECE: It is a humbling experience to have written a book and receive so many positive compliments.

VERSAFI: Have you ever thought about being an author full-time?

TAETRECE: No, not initially but now I can envision myself as a full-time author.

VERSAFI: Tell us about your marketing strategies as an author? Do you find it to be challenging at times when promoting your books?

TAETRECE: I have been on several online platforms and podcasts. Yes, it can be challenging sometimes but patience is important in promoting a new book.

VERSAFI: Do you have any current book projects that you are working on?

TAETRECE: Yes, I am working on a book about corrupt judges and another book about politics in New Orleans.

VERSAFI: Congrats again on your first book! Now tell us how can readers connect with you and support you?
