I Need Thee (Almighty God)

 By Keywana Wright, Author

You, Lord are all I have, and you give me all I need; my future is in your hands. Psalm 16:5

How many of you can say I need thee? The thee I am referring to, is God, he is the one that can supply all your needs. He provides for us daily meeting our needs for food, clothing, and shelter. Regardless if you have more than enough or you have a portion for today. I remember growing up and attending church on Sunday. I remember the deacons at church singing the song, “I need thee every hour” just before they would pray. This song has stayed with me since I was a little girl. I say often “I need thee”.

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want (Psalm 23:1) is one of my favorite verses. Everything you need is found in God.

God is our strength. God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. (Psalm 46:1-3) God will give you strength when you are feeling weak. God will renew your strength at times when the cares of life weight you down.

God is our peace. For he himself is our peace, who has made both, one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation. (Ephesians 2:14) God will be your peace when it seems you have no peace.

God is our redeemer.  Our Redeemer, the Lord of hosts is his name, the Holy One of Israel. (Isaiah 47:4) God has redeemed us through his son, Jesus.

There is not a day that goes by that I do not realize that I need thee (God Almighty) in my life. I realize I can not do anything without God. He has everything I need. He has everything you need too.

Affirmation: I need thee, O Lord, I need you.

Let’s pray

Dear God, thank you for this day. I realized I can’t do anything without you, but I can do all things through you. I realized I need thee every day. I ask that you order my steps in your word. Lead and guide me as I go through out today. Help me to always seek you first. Thank you for being everything I need. Amen
