Nichelle Goree is a 2x Self-Published Author. She is a God-fearing mother of two and a woman of faith. Nichelle is self-motivator, and she is a motivator of her peers. She loves life and believes that we all can overcome any challenges that we are faced with, as evidenced by the challenges that she has overcome in her own life. Nichelle considers herself a Goal Digger. She has set several goals and successfully achieved them. She currently works as a Correctional Officer and has certificates as an insurance agent and a real estate agent. Nichelle was led to write her second book after having life throw many things at her. Versafi: How did your journey as an author began?
Nichelle: What I had intentions on doing shifted me into a different direction I never had any plans on becoming an author although I always have enjoyed writing.
Versafi: Was becoming a writer something you always wanted to pursue?
Nichelle: No, never thought twice about it although I’ve always dreamed of doing journalism.
Versafi: What inspired you to write your first book?
Nichelle: I had plans to do something else, but God redirected me and told me to write a book.
Versafi: How does it feel to be a published author?
Versafi: Since becoming a published author, what challenges have you faced if any?
Nichelle: The challenge of which story to write about. I have so many memories and life encounters that It’s hard to not be so detailed about what has taken place due to confidential reasons, I try to not reveal so much.
Versafi: What message do you want your readers to take away when reading your books?
Nichelle: To understand there will be challenges but always take the limits off.
Versafi: What does being an author mean to you?
Nichelle: In the words of Pamela D. Smith, it gives me AUTHORity.
Versafi: If you could co-author with any author dead or alive, who would it be and why?
Nichelle: Oprah, or my friend Lakysha Sampson, she’s an author. I have also had thoughts of writing with my family although no one in my family is an author yet.

Nichelle: My first book, Motivate Me Goree
Versafi: Have you ever thought about being an author full-time?
Nichelle: No, because I’m not good at focusing on one task. I’m always all over the place.
Versafi: Tell us about your marketing strategies as an author.
Nichelle: Everybody I meet I always end up sharing that I am an author. God somehow sends me on these journeys. Versafi: Do you feel that black authors are celebrated and supported enough in their communities?
Nichelle: YES!!! From my own experience it was unbelievable how many supporters reached out and purchased my first book. I really believe that my second book Dope will be dope! A lot of people are inquiring about it. I love seeing and supporting other black authors in the community as well.
